The Bible is rife with archetypes from the shadow character to the shape-shifter, roles widely documented by the literary historian and philosopher Joseph Campbell. Once you make sense of these roles' commonalities and traits it's much easier to read with a critical eye.

Your Christian book store also offers foreign Bibles, large print Bibles, and tapes and CDs offering further dissection and analysis. Additionally, you'll see gifts such as crosses and phrase books, rosaries and bible cases, and all manner of Christian imagery. "Religious books in general are selling very well," he says. "People are searching for truth, and that's what leads them to our novels. Another factor is that we've created a series of books about the greatest cosmic event that will happen in the history of the world. People are drawn to the storyline, and now they tell us they've fallen in love with the characters."
